AIA Tampa Bay to host David Thaddeus
July 11, 12 & 13This full weekend workshop will be led by Professor David Thaddeus, an Associate Professor of Structures and Architectural Design at the College of Architecture at the University of North Carolina at Charlotte. The ARE Structures Seminar covers the two structural divisions of the ARE: General Structures and Lateral Forces David is a nationally recognized seminar leader, having taught this Architect Registration Examination (ARE) review seminar for the structural divisions since 1989.Seminar Fees Registration Fee (non-refundable) $85 member / $135 non-membersCourse Fee $225 Full Weekend Seminar + Registration Fee listed aboveLateral Forces only all day Sunday + Registration Fee listed above

NCARB IDP 6 MONTH RULE
Q: When will the proposed reporting requirement, if adopted, begin?
Resolution 2008-07 will be phased in over two years. It requires interns establishing a new NCARB Record on or after 1 July 2009 to submit training reports of no more than six-months duration by submitting a form within two months of the end of the reporting period. On 1 July 2010, one full year later, the “Six-Month Rule” will apply to all interns.

YAF thanks Burke, Hogue & Mills for hosting event
On June 4, the staff of Burke, Hogue & Mills hosted a tour of their new office building in Lake Mary. With nearly 50 YAF and USGBC Emerging Green Builders in attendance the event was quite a success. The YAF and EGB wish to thank Burke, Hogue & Mills for taking the time to share with us. We wish them the best in the completion of the project and in achieving the recognition as the first LEED certified architecture office in the state.
